Back in 1990, designers Charles Bigelow and Kris Holmes decided that it would be a good idea to make an entire font of nonsensical graphics that have no relation to the character they're supposed to represent. While as a font this is useless, an entire hoard of cool basic designs were born. Most Wingdings graphics make sweet designs to put everywhere.
